All cleaned up

After labor and delivery, we moved to a new room for recovery. Same layout as the old room, just minus the medical equipment. This is the room we stayed in for the next 48 hours. Nurses came in and out all the time, teaching us about Lexie and checking that I was recovering well. Here's Lexie all cleaned up!

Welcome Baby Lexie!

Lexie Ryan Hayden was born at 3:43 AM, weighing 7 lbs, 7 oz. The delivery went very well. This pic was taken while she was laying on my chest, about 1 minute after birth, and was the first time she opened her eyes. Pretty amazing.

Labor time

The doctors induced me with Pitocin to get the contractions started. The effects set in fairly quickly. I was only in labor for approximately 8 hours before starting to push. Jeff was great, holding my hand and being encouraging through it all.

Headed for the hospital!

After several days of suspicion that my water had broken, we bumped up our weekly doctor's visit to today. Sure enough, they ran some tests and told us to head to the hospital to have Lexie! Since I was feeling completely normal, we were able to take the time to snap some pics on the way in.

What is that?!?

Caught some of Lexie's movements on video. She provided Jeff and me with hours of entertainment, especially in the evenings, when she was the most active. All the action happens in the first 10 seconds of the video.

4D Ultrasound

We were fortunate enough to be offered a free 4D ultrasound by a company who was training their technicians and in need of trial clients. Such cool technology!
