Off to Vegas...

After three days of Spring Break events in Phoenix, we headed off to Vegas for the weekend. We pretty much left the camera in the room the whole time but managed to snap a couple pics at the pool at our hotel.


Overall, we had a great time!

Spring Training

Spring Break '08 continued with a spring training game on Wednesday. We went to see the A's and Cubs play in Mesa.

Lake Day

On Tuesday, Jeff, Lewis, Jake, Skylar and I went to Roosevelt Lake. The weather was beautiful but the water was freezing. Lewis, Jake and Skylar got in anyway and did some wakeboarding. I didn't get any pics of the action because my camera battery was almost dead, but here are a couple others.




Later that day...

On the way home, we stopped at this bar in the middle of nowhere to use the bathroom. Skylar ended up making friends with a guy named Bobby who was about 97 and looked like he had been sitting in that bar for the last 50 years. Bobby invited us to come back on Friday for pool, BBQing and horseshoes. We seriously would have driven back there if we hadn't already made plans to go to Vegas!

Lewis and his friends, Skylar and Jake, came out for their Spring Break (and mine). They drove from Albuquerque and got in late Sunday night. On Monday we went to Rula Bula, which is an Irish bar near ASU.

Spa Day

This afternoon began my week long Spring Break. With some extra time on my hands, I decided to give Sierra some much needed attention. It started with a simple ear cleaning and bath, but evolved into much more...

Welcome, Baby Gavin!

Tonight we went over to James and Sarah's house to meet their new baby, Gavin. He was born on Sunday the 24th, and is the most darling little baby!! They already seem so comfortable with him and you can feel their happiness and excitement that he is finally here. Congrats, Sarah and James!

Rental repairs...

For the past few years, February has been the most stressful month for us because it is when our two rental properties become vacant and the search for new tenants begins. Friday marked the end of a one year lease on both houses. This year, we were lucky enough to find new tenants ahead of time which meant we had less than 24 hours of turn around time on both properties. We spent Friday night pulling weeds, sweeping, dusting, vacuuming and installing a new garbage disposal! At about 8:45 PM, while I was up on the ladder, shop-vacing cobwebs off the ceiling, the power company turned the power off! The whole house went pitch black and made for an interesting dismount off the ladder. In spite of the darkness, we continued to clean, using a flashlight, until about 10:00. Two happy tenants moved in on Saturday and we breathed a sigh of relief that we will not have to take on the emotional, physical or financial burden of having the properties sit empty for any length of time.
