Rental repairs...

For the past few years, February has been the most stressful month for us because it is when our two rental properties become vacant and the search for new tenants begins. Friday marked the end of a one year lease on both houses. This year, we were lucky enough to find new tenants ahead of time which meant we had less than 24 hours of turn around time on both properties. We spent Friday night pulling weeds, sweeping, dusting, vacuuming and installing a new garbage disposal! At about 8:45 PM, while I was up on the ladder, shop-vacing cobwebs off the ceiling, the power company turned the power off! The whole house went pitch black and made for an interesting dismount off the ladder. In spite of the darkness, we continued to clean, using a flashlight, until about 10:00. Two happy tenants moved in on Saturday and we breathed a sigh of relief that we will not have to take on the emotional, physical or financial burden of having the properties sit empty for any length of time.

On a Sunday afternoon....

On Sunday, after the wedding, we hung out with Jeff's family and Doug and Trisha. Doug had rented a red convertible so we cruised around in that and spent the day relaxing and being goofy!

Matt & V tie the knot!!

Matt and Veronica's wedding was beautiful!! They had their ceremony at a church in Scottsdale and their reception at Stonebridge Manor in Mesa. Everyone danced the night away and had a blast! It was so fun to see people we haven't seen in years and we are excited for Matt and Veronica to start their new life together! Congrats!

All these people (except Veronica) have been friends since elementary school! It is amazing how many people were at the wedding that Jeff and I have known since we were kids. It was a great reminder of how fortunate we are to have grown up in a community that has stayed so close over the years and just how important friends and family really are. We loved seeing everyone!!!

As many of you know, Matt (Jeff's best friend) and Veronica got married on February 23rd. We had a great weekend with Jeff's family and also got to see a lot of our friends from childhood. Here are a couple pics from the piano bar on Friday night before the wedding.

Finally... a date!

We have both been so busy with work lately that we hardly get to see each other, much less have a real date! On Saturday, we decided to get dressed up and go to a long relaxing dinner at PF Changs. It was so nice to finally get to spend some quality time together!

Tonight I went out with the girls for Tara's b-day, but somehow, Tara didn't make it in the picture. I think it is because she is always on the dance floor, challenging people to dance-offs (which she always wins).

Superbowl Sunday!

Britney and Jeremy came over to watch the Superbowl with us. Britney is a huge Giants fan so she was pretty pumped about the outcome of the game. This was probably my favorite Superbowl so far! It was nice to just relax and actually watch the game.

FBR Open!

Woah! Today we went to the FBR Open (formerly the Phoenix Open). Over 100,000 people watching golf (or pretending to watch golf).

The 16th hole, where these pictures were taken, is a massive party. Grandstands, cheering, people doing the wave... It is INSANE! The weather was beautiful and we had a great time!
